Why are WoW Private Servers So Limited?
The private servers are limited because the persons that create the server have to program it themselves...usually without help. Practically everything that happens within a MMORPG is carried out by the server. Due to this reason, the official WoW source code cannot be reached. Beware of Playing on WoW Private Servers

Blizzard, the creators of WoW, do not support them as they think it wrong to play on services like this. They do not support it and it is possible that they will ban your account if you are found playing on one. WoW Private Server

How to Play on a WoW Private Server
By playing on a private server, you have the capability of playing the game with thousands of players. This used to be limited to around 100 people at the same time, but with an Antrix core some servers can hold over 2000. To play on a WoW Private Server you must first download the WoW client. It can be downloaded by the following websites:

* Waidur da Nerull * WoW Wiki * SOLVUM * VG Pro

If it is not the Burning Crusade server you want to play then you can skip this step. In the next step you need to download and install the Burning Crusade expansion. It can be downloaded from the following websites:

* WoW Wiki * Legion of the Dragonborn * SOLVUM * Stormrager Productions

After doing what is listed above, the you will need to patch until the version the server you want to play is. Example: if you want to play on a version that is version 2.0.10, then you need to patch up to this version.

Finally, open the file: realmlist.wtf, in your client folder. It will show a line similar to this: set realmlist worldofwarcraft.logon.us

Change this address to the address of the private server you wish to play on. (You have to be provided with an address for the private server to be able to connect to one). Have fun playing on WoW Private Servers!

How do you play WoW on private server?

Ok first, go to a site that has WoW Private server listings, such as top 100 or top 200 and then find the one you want, then go to the website, it will usuly have a " How to connect " part or a " account Creation Page" then it will generally have a Realmlist The Realmlist is the Key part of connecting, now go to Start -> My Computer -> Local disk C: -> All programs -> World of warcraft . Then youll see a " realmlist.wtf " now right click it, select properties then hit open with Notepad, now once your in, youll see somthing like " Set realmlist Bla bla bla bla " change that "blablabla" or whatever it is i can't rember, to the realmlist of the private server so it will look like this " Set Reamlist THE PRIVATE SERVER'S REALMLIST" and keep the patchlist the same thing and hit save as then save it as Realmlist.wtf and save it under All files , and once your done if the server has the latest patch start it with the launcher if els start it with WoW.exe in your WoW Folder and log in with the private server account you made, usuly it takes 5-10 min. for the account to be made :] Thank you i hope this helped you -Konnor The Spark - WoW 2.4.x (75x) Private server admin
